Hardware Vendors Seek To Hire Channel Pros Amid Market Changes
The IT industry's largest vendors need channel leaders, and that's on full display in their job listings.
In fact, large legacy vendors are seeking to fill hundreds of channel-focused positions, and that is perhaps a sign of the level and speed of IT industry change currently roiling the market.
"A lot of the channel hiring is a reflection on how much industry change we have," said Patrick Moorhead, president of Moor Insight & Strategy. "Behind many of the hirings, we have big company strategy changes at HP, Dell EMC, IBM and Lenovo. Many of those companies are shifting from hardware companies to relay on software, services and the cloud. When vendors churn, the channel churns and it needs leaders."
CRN has compiled a sampling of open, channel-focused jobs at major IT vendors, and it shows demand for a wide range of roles – from entry-level to executive – as these companies try to fill their channel rosters as market change accelerates.
