Computex Taps Security MSP President To Lead Sales Charge, Aims To Signficantly Grow Its Security Footprint

Computex Technology Solutions has tapped Matthew Brennan, the president of VirtualArmour, one of the country's top managed security providers, to lead the sales charge at the solution provider.

The appointment of Brennan as senior vice president of sales signals Computex's intent to significantly expand its security vendor partnerships and services offerings, CEO Frank Vitagliano told CRN in an interview.

"Matt is a strong leader that understands managed services and the services security market," said Vitagliano. "He is a perfect fit for us as we expand our security partnerships and services offerings."

Security is one of the top concerns of every business in an age when cyberattacks are growing at an alarming rate, said Vitagliano.

Houston-based Computex, in fact, had reached out to its customers Monday to offer assistance in the wake of the WannaCry ransomware attack, which impacted more than 200,000 organizations in 150 countries. So far, the attack does not appear to have seriously impacted U.S. hospitals and businesses.

Vitagliano said none of Computex's customers appeared to have been hit by WannaCry.

"We sent a note to our managed services customers yesterday telling our customers we have their back," said Vitagliano. "Every customer we talk to has clearly expressed a need and desire for us to provide them with expanded security offerings."

Brennan started as an account executive at VirtualArmour six years ago, was named vice president of sales in 2015, and president just 10 months ago. Under his sales leadership, VirtualArmour grew its managed services business 70 percent over three years.

VirtualAmour said that in the wake of Brennan's departure, his responsibilities will be assumed by VirtualArmour founder Christopher Blisard and CEO Todd Kannegieter.

VirtualArmour's sales increased 21 percent to $8.89 million  in 2016, up from $7.36 million in 2015. Managed services and professional services sales for 2016 rose 30 percent.

Brennan's hire is the first major appointment by Vitagliano since he took the helm at Computex -- No. 124 on CRN's Solution Provider 500 -- in January.

The appointment of Brennan is Vitagliano's first major hire as he moves to drive sales growth at Computex with a growing portfolio of managed services aimed at helping customers digitally transform their businesses for the cloud era.
